On the road.

A travel diary about my gap year, work, and ponderings throughout

This is me.

Hi 🙂 Most of you reading this blog will be family and friends, coworkers and others I have met in the past few years. Welcome to my little travel diary and the place where my photos and memories will exist for the next year and further.

In the next few weeks I will heading out on a road trip that will take me out to the Rockies and beyond. For a year, my plan is to live and work in Canada, and explore every mountain, canyon, river and backroad there is. After a winter of working and skiing, I hope to backpack through the mountains of Alberta/BC backcountry with friends I meet along the way. My end destination is wherever I find myself next August. There is no set route after Alberta.

I will be finishing the conversion of my mini van, dubbed “The Mom Van” at the moment because I have not yet come up with a catchier title, and because the “soccer mom” joke has become a constant thing among my friend group. Yes, I drive a mini van, and no I am not ashamed to be an 18 year old driving a mini van. By the end of September you will see why when the Mom Van is complete and decked out as my new little oasis.

Keep an eye on the blog in the top right to see how the conversion is going and a little overview of my plans in the next two months.

You can expect to see photos, updates, and my take on life at each moment in time on this site, and I hope you enjoy every minute of it.
